Listening blog - State farm

I chose to do State Farm and I'm doing them because of all the publicity they are getting from the California fires because of what they chose to do before the fires happened. People are upset at them because they decided as a business to take away peoples fire insurance in California because they saw the warning signs of a fire happening before they ended up happening. Which from a business stand point was a great idea since it would've cost them millions of dollars for all the insurance claims that they would have had to deal with while on the other hand people lost everything they had and can't get anything back which sucks. It was really interesting the amount of hate they got for doing what was good for their company when they saw a problem way before it happened and then sure enough it happened and everyone is mad at them and not the governor who got rid of all of the fire protections in California.

State farms stand by their slogan of being a good neighbor and provide quality service for risks that people have to manage. It's just like how they say in every commercial like a good neighbor State farm is there and they usually show up at some sort of issue a person is having that their insurance can help with.

James Woods, an actor who owns a house in the Southern California area scorched by the Palisades Fire, wrote on X that "one of the major insurances [sic] companies canceled all the policies in our neighborhood about four months ago."

Actor Rob Schneider criticized State Farm in a post on X and wrote, "Screw you and all your phoney [sic] commercials!! You are a pile of crap for canceling insurance policies of Californians! I will never use State Farm insurance ever again!"

A State Farm spokesperson said in a statement to FOX Business, "Our number one priority right now is the safety of our customers, agents and employees impacted by the fires and assisting our customers in the midst of this tragedy."

State Farm always is promoting how they'll always be there for people that need them for risks that they need help with even though they didn't stand by that for the California fires that are currently happening.

They have been working on building a brand and reputation for a very long time and with how they're commercials are with all the athletes and guests they have on their commercials and it has definitely been working since almost everyone uses them for their insurance now.

They've responded by paying for some stuff but not for all of it, with all the hate they were getting they kinda needed to respond with something since they needed the pressure to get off of them for a little while, while they figure out what to do about the issue.

I would respond to them and try to explain what is going on and what might happen in the future for these circumstances, especially since the company is being attacked about taking away peoples fire insurance.

I learned that State Farm is starting to take action about what is going on with the California fires and they won't be in a Superbowl ad because of what is going on.
