I was interested in this since it is something that a lot of people use and it could be going away for a long time. This would affect many people that called themselves influencers and they post videos for their living or they sell stuff on the app and advertise it through people trying it. It's not only for people dancing but it's also something that lets businesses market their product and have many people see it since there are so many people that use the app and with it getting banned it takes that away from all the businesses and they have to find a different way to market to all those people to keep their business up and running.

The biggest takeaways with this is that with the ban of this app it will cause a big disruption for all the people that were using the app to market and sell things on it. It also challenges them to put all the money they were using for ads towards somewhere else that will benefit them. It also adds to the already chaotic year it's been with social media.
The value proposition was to provide people with free entertainment while also giving the opportunity for people to connect with businesses so they would get an audience to see their products and buy it. With the ban it destroys the value proposition since nobody will be able to connect with anyone over the app once it's banned.
They are currently trying to overcome what I would consider the death penalty for an app as it is getting banned all over the world and in North America right now. The supreme court is making their job harder by trying to ban the app so nobody can use it in the United States which affects lots of people and their businesses as well. It's currently being talked about that someone in the USA will buy the United States part of TikTok so that it won't be banned since they think if China is taking our information from it. The competitors are gaining from it since people can't use one app they go and use the other apps that are available.
What makes it unique is that it was over an app instead of being an in person type of business so it's all online. It gave people no matter where they lived a chance to see things around the world such as restaurants or other products with how having to leave the seat of their couch. I saw this with multiple restaurants with videos of them getting people traveling to them just because they saw it with videos and thought it was good. Some examples were barbers, restaurants and even private jet companies that got more customers just based on the videos they saw over TikTok.
The technique for it worked and it was achieving a lot of revenue for the businesses which helped them out a lot and even if they try to ban it they'll find a way around it because you have to be willing to risk stuff for the rewards that come with it.
I would put myself in the app too and make sure to take the risk even if it gets banned that I got something out of marketing from it. I would also stick with it through the small ban it already had until it gets fully banned since I believe someone in the United States will buy it since it's to big of a marketing platform to get rid of by banning it.
I learned that TikTok is used a lot more in many different ways than what I just use it for myself.
